Melissa Wu graduated from Western University with a Masters of Science degree in Physical Therapy. Prior to becoming a Physiotherapist, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from McMaster University. She has also completed postgraduate courses in Kinesio Taping, Soft Tissue Release, Mulligan Lower Concept and Foundations of Anatomical Acupuncture.
Melissa has worked in a variety of settings such as acute care hospitals, neuro rehabilitation hospitals and orthopedic clinics. She uses her past experiences to provide a functional holistic assessment and treatment style that identifies the complex nature of each individual’s pain experience. Through a detailed interview and assessment process, Melissa identifies factors contributing to musculoskeletal pain and movement disorders. These orthopaedic conditions include: post-surgical conditions (total hip and knee replacements, ligamentous and meniscal repairs, rotator cuff stabilization, etc.), fractures, chronic tendon injuries, low back and neck pain, osteoarthritis, frozen shoulder, and sprains and strains from sport and workplace injuries and auto accident injuries.
